Clyde-Green Springs Treasurer's Office

The philosophy of my office is that effective financial management means going virtually unnoticed. That may sound odd, but I believe that our function is bigger than simply running an efficient office...it is to assist in any way we can to achieve our ultimate goal of providing the best possible education to our kids.

Of course, we have many state rules and regulations that we need to work with, which at times can make our jobs difficult...but we try to make things as easy as possible. This website will hopefully assist community members, staff and students to understand what we do, give you some insights as to the financial operations of the school district and perhaps help to answer any questions you may have. - Treasurer Alan Binger

Alan W. Binger, a native of White’s Landing, Ohio has been the Treasurer of the Clyde-Green Springs Schools since 1990.  Prior to working for the School District, Mr. Binger was the Controller for The Croghan Colonial Bank for seven years.  Mr. Binger received a B.S. in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University with a major in Finance.  He has since completed graduate work at BGSU, the University of Toledo and Ashland University. 

Mr. Binger is a member of the Ohio Association of School Business Officials (OASBO) and is a past president of their Northwest Ohio Chapter.  He has served the School District as a member of the Operating Committee of the Northern Ohio Educational Computer Association and as Secretary/Treasurer of the School District’s foundation.  He is a past Director of the Sandusky County Fair.  He serves on the Memorial Hospital Foundation Board and is a board member and Treasurer of the Fremont Youth Hockey Boosters Association, and Communities for the Arts, Inc.  

He has played the church organ for over 30 years and operates a small Christmas Tree Farm.   He enjoys gardening and country music.  He is married with three sons who have each attended the School District.
