First Grade, Room 29

A bit about me...

I was born and raised in Fremont, Ohio.   I am a 2001 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and a 2005 graduate of Bowling Green State University with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education.  I have not yet fulfilled my graduate level work, but intend on completing a master’s degree in Reading in the near future.  In 2006, I married my high school sweetheart, Aaron, and we currently reside in Clyde with our cat, Brutus.

Prior to my full time position at South Main, I substitute taught in Clyde, Fremont and Bellevue.  In 2006, I was hired at Green Springs Elementary as an Educational Aide.  The following year, I received the honor of becoming part of the full time teaching staff of Clyde-Green Spring Schools.  I taught first grade at Vine Street Elementary during the 2007-2008 school year.  At the start of the 2008-2009 school year, I then moved to South Main Elementary to teach first grade.  In the fall of 2009, second grade called my name and I had the pleasure of moving up alongside some of my former students.

I absolutely love teaching and the most rewarding part is seeing the growth in my students’ academics throughout the year.  I can think of no better grade level to teach than the primary grades.  The students’ desire to learn and the excitement they bring to school everyday are priceless.

In my free time I enjoy scrap booking, decorating, spending time with family and friends and taking in OSU Buckeye activities.  I sincerely look forward to being part of this great district for many years to come, and I am anxious to see what the future holds for this grand community.
