I have been teaching in the Clyde-Green Springs school district since 1979. Prior to that time, I taught in the Mansfield city school district and at the Marion River Valley local school district. In 1986, I was named as junior high social studies teacher of the year for the state of Ohio.

During my tenure here at Clyde, I have been named teacher of the year three times for our district and in 2007 was named northwest Ohio teacher of the year. I have been a multi year recipient of teacher awards and have been the Ohio Lottery teacher of the month. I have worked with 13 student teachers and have spoken to education students at numerous Ohio colleges and universities about the education field. I have coached high school girls, boys tennis, freshmen, middle school football, and basketball.

My late wife, Candace and I have two daughters, Shana a teacher and coach in the Bellevue school district and Darcy a student at Heidelberg University and a musician. I am very active at church, and have been a volunteer for the humane society and dog rescue organizations.
